(4/2024) The deliciousness of this 2018 bottling is apparent from the first moment you raise the glass to your nose. A hazy, deep garnet ruby color suggests the authenticity we look for in a Brunello. Earth, ripe and dried red berries, sweet wood tones and crumbled earth come through on the initial taste. With extended time in the decanter, the firm tannins release their grip, and dark red fruits expand to create a texturally luxurious experience with the fingerprints of classic Brunello and classic Gaja. Beyond the initial flavors are bright red berries, subtle leather tones, roasted lavender, vanilla and dried leaves. Outstanding!
