"The single-vineyard 2016 Vina Pedrosa La Navilla Reserva was produced with the grapes from the vines that surround the winery in the village of Pedrosa de Duero. It shows some spicy and smoky aromas after 20 months in French oak barrels. It has some austerity and, when tasted next to the regular Vina Pedrosa Reserva from the same year, revealed a slightly more rustic personality and abundant tannins. Drink Date: 2020 - 2025." "Deep, vivid ruby. Pungent, smoke-accented cherry pit, blackberry and pipe tobacco aromas are complemented by a spicy flourish and a strong hint of vanilla. Juicy and focused on the palate, offering sweet, well-concentrated red and dark berry liqueur, fruitcake and licorice flavors that deepen slowly and pick up spiciness on the back half. Fine-grained tannins come up slowly on the floral-driven finish, which lingers with strong, smoky tenacity. Drinking Window: 2023 - 2032." (2/2021)
