(9/2021) Planted in 1950 to clay and limestone soils, this gutsy Pinot Noir is actually declassified 1er Cru juice from Pommard's Les Combs vineyard. Wow! Remaining true to traditional Pommard, an appellation known for producing the most structured reds in the Cotes de Beaune, Pierre's 2017 Pommard lives up to its reputation. As with all his wines, Pierre Boillot uses only natural yeasts to ferment this wine and very little new oak (30% new maximum). Packed with fresh red fruit and a noteworthy medium-plus tannic frame, this Pommard remains entirely elegant and airy.
